Icons in VersIC not immediately updated

Why are cell view icons in VersIC quite often not immediately updated - e.g. after a checkout or a revert?

Users report that the cell view icons in VersIC are quite often not immediately updated - e.g. after a checkout or a revert. This is quite confusing / annoying - as you have to wait or click on another view to refresh the icon.

Is there a way to improve this behavior?

How often cell view icons are updated depends on GDM and Library Manager setup.

VersIC relies on the GDM. The icons are updated with the Cadence Cache. The default time interval is 30 seconds. To define the Cache Timeout you can use 'setShellEnvVar("VSC_GDM_CACHE_TIMEOUT=n")' in Cadence Virtuoso before starting up the Library Manager, where 'n' is in seconds. The disadvantage (for smaller 'n') is performance - VersIC will continually be talking to the DM system which may deteriorate performance.

Next, in the Library Manager, go to View > Display Options and tick mark "Enable poll". Set both intervals to 1 second for example. The disadvantage is that the cursor may be "active" more often with these settings.
