The P4 Plan Server hostname must be set to allow users to do the following:
- Open items from the web client in the desktop client
- Open P4 Plan item links from outside the desktop client such as in e-mails
- Enable certificates to allow secure communications between clients and the server
- Enable shares between servers
It's a good idea to use names that are unlikely to change. For example, avoid basing them on company names, tool names, product names, and infrastructure, as these may change in the future.
1. Click Admin.
2. Click Edit hostname.
3. Enter the Server hostname for the P4 Plan Server. For example, http://hansoftprojects.mycompany.com.
4. Click OK to save the changes.
