Restoring databases from backups
If a database is corrupted or lost because of disk errors or a hardware problem, you can re-create the database using backups. Depending on the failure type, you may want to recover the entire database, including project history and document files, or only recover the current project data.
1. Open the Helix Plan Server Administrator.
2. Select the database to restore and take it offline.
3. Click Restore.
The Restore Database From Backup dialog box opens.
4. Select the backup file to use from the Found backups list. If the file you want to use is not in the list, enter the path to the file in the Backup path (on server) field.
5. Select Restore projects database and Restore document management files, project history, change history, and statistics.
6. Click OK.
The database is restored.
7. Put the database online.
The Helix Plan Server does an integrity check of the restored data.
Restoring from an incremental backup
To restore an entire database using incremental full backup, restore the latest full backup and then restore each incremental backup since the latest full backup, starting with the oldest. Make sure you restore the incremental backups in the correct order or recovery will be incomplete.
Restoring only current project data
To restore only the current project data, when selecting the restore options, do not select Restore document management files, project history, change history, and statistics.
